Cormac McCarthy disturbed me enough with “The Road,” (certainly more than Kerouac did with “On The Road.” The origins of covfefe did make me wonder if Trump was using something stronger than coffee, but now that I know it came out of a squirrel’s behind (where most of Trumps ideas and policies come from, by the way), I’m sure we can all sleep more soundly. This also gives a new handle to the line “It was a brave man who ate the first oyster.” I mean, who was the first to poke through squirrel excrement and decide the there was a coffee idea there? Makes one wonder what else they found in those feces. A new berry soda? Squirrel nectar?

I did a poor imitation of Don Draper for 40 years before writing my first novel. I'm currently in the final stages of a children's book. Lucky me.
