Getting under the “crust of truth” is a good term, Todd. Certainly journalists owe it to the public—and themselves—to stick to facts, not emotion. If only emotion didn’t seem so important these days, there wouldn’t be a problem. But obviously we feel more attuned to emotion which, ironically, is being propagated by the very man who doesn’t care about truth. Once fact and emotion blend together, you get only one thing: alternative truths.
