I think a lot of people are weaning themselves off Facebook. I’ve heard of people being depressed because it seems everyone else is “having fun.” As you say, “It’s what people want us to see,” and like I’ve told a few people, “Sure, those friends of yours are taking wonderful vacations, but how are they paying for them?” My real estate agent filled me in the other week. “You wouldn’t believe how many people still haven’t paid off their mortgages,” she said, and these are people in their sixties. They’re carrying other debt as well. It’s one thing to post wonderful pictures of yourself in St. Kitts, but this “live for today” mentality that’s all over Facebook is coupled with a bunch of debt (which it is), I don’t see the point.
