I think it would shock most people to learn they need to devote 10,000 hours to their goal. So many of us, brought up as we were and are on television, tend to see life in 30 minute segments. Aren’t all homes renovated in 30 minutes? Aren’t the most devious and deceptive criminals apprehended in 30 minutes (then 30 minutes of court time)? As long as we believe in the 30 minute segment, goals and our commitment to them will never be realized. We all need to spend time with a contractor (as I did) who explained how long renovations actually take (six weeks is absolutely minimum). Then we might be able to look at “goals” with a realistic eye. Thanks for the post.
