I think we all need to move to “cats or baseball” since we’re all too “bubbled” to report news objectively. In advertising (where I’ve worked for years), neither agencies nor clients understand the first thing about consumers. They have their briefs, they meet their briefs, they go home. What’s accomplished isn’t worth a fandango or a tinker’s curse. It’s our silliness set to branding, and we can only sleep with the knowledge that after we’re gone, the Golden Arches will still be standing tall, like The Statue of Liberty in “Planet of the Apes.” Only there won’t be Charlton Heston saying, “You bastards!”
