I would say recruiting really is “A Confederacy of Dunces.” No organization of any integrity would accept a client saying, “We want full marketing plans from these applicants—oh, and we might use them later.” How anyone could find this acceptable is beyond me. We had the same thing in agency pitches. The client would take an idea from an agency that didn’t get the account and give it to the agency that did. To say “This is just business” is to admit that you never had integrity in the first place. Thanks for this, Shani.
