I’ll add to that, Kat, by saying the Allies did nothing their own security was in danger. Here in Canada, Mackenzie King turned back boatloads of Jews. All the allied nations could have reacted soon except it seemed politically expendable. As soon as there was public outcry, the Allies moved in—after it was talked over considerably with huge corporate, religious and political interests. It was a very long time before any decision was made. Millions of lives could have been saved. Indifference is influenced by others, what they approve of or will allow.
