Interesting article, Allan. My concern—a big one—is placing our faith in one gender, believing they can be all good. As humans, we all suffer from the human traits including fear, ego, exaggerated goodness and possible vindictiveness. The man/woman relationship is a strange one, but ultimately, if it’s working, it essentially keeps us honest. The same can exist in same sex couples, mostly in the broadness of their thinking. Somehow the complexity of two different thinkers somehow bonds (not quite sure how, but it does). I believe women can be strong leaders, too, but beware of blanket statements. We’re a strange chemistry where ego-driven men choose weak women and the same in reverse (Margaret Thatcher and her husband). There’s no perfect chemistry, in other words, but the mix of genders seems to be better than reliance on one (certainly not a reliance on men alone—that’s been a bitch).
