Interesting piece, Anna, and I’m sure you’re right. Without the women’s movement, men wouldn’t be staying home with the kids. Eventually we learn that staging change is often good for both parties, even when one party has to be dragged kicking and screaming. Then again, I doubt there would be movements without a lot of kicking and screaming. It’s what makes movements worthwhile. We call it history, and there’s no history without conflict and resolution—and people like your mother.
