It’s certainly hypocritical calling out the “shame” of other countries, when injustice is the very watchword of the speakers themselves. Perhaps even more frustrating, Hera, is when geo-political influence isn’t so much Machiavellian as blundering. History is full of geo-political blundering that costs lives and puts even worse criminals in power. Think of the millions of lives lost in wars because of inept military leaders who “bought” their commissions. This went on for hundreds of years. At least back then, wars were fought away from civilians, on battlefields. It was actually considered honorable. Today there is no honor or shame.
