My rationality has never been at stake. I write satire. I believe, as Hunter S. Thompson once said, “Never let facts stand in the way of a good story.” People who demand facts, reality and “yes or no” have a hard time with me, mostly because I honestly don’t see fact as consequential. What facts? Name a single fact put forth by the government that can’t be disputed. It’s like saying “Pay Equity Today.” The chances of that happening are nil, but we’ll argue the facts, and when we’re tired of arguing the facts, the reality, we’ll still be in the same place. That’s the great thing about satire. We always move ahead.
