We’ve had rational and public discussion, Mike. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with outcomes, since our discussions and the discussions of government(s) operate in completely different worlds. There is no crossover and, as such, we talk one way, the government talks another. The reason governments and civil service grow larger is so a good percentage of the population will side with government (good pensions, etc). School systems are essentially government, so don’t expect their rhetoric to change the next generation. Smart children will learn to go into teaching and civil service—not because it’s the side that’s right, but it’s the side with the most benefits.
