When we hear about old people having the same regret: “I wish I had done more with my life,” you’d think we’d change. Yet it seems we’d rather “regret” and have the “things” we want, then live doing things we find fulfilling. A woman wrote me once in response to an article on this topic: “You get a job, marry, have kids, give them an education, job done.” Another woman on a dating site said: “I have a job, a house, a car, two kids. All that’s missing is you.”
